Buying a Home in Minnesota in 2009?

by Nate Berg on February 16, 2009

2008 is long gone but it’s affects on Minnesota Real Estate will been long lasting. 2008 was a bad year for anyone selling a home in Minnesota and most of the country. 2009 looks like it will be much improved.

March is the time of year in Minnesota when we are near the end of winter and we begin to look forward to summer. It is also the month we have a “season opener”, no I’m not talking about fishing, I’m talking about buying and selling homes in Minnesota. Sure some homes sell in the winter but the fact is it is winter is the off season here in the land of 10,000 lakes.

Spring is the time of year when people start looking at homes and placing them on the market. School is nearing an end and parents want to be into their new home by next school year.  2009 is looking like buying or selling a home in Minnesota will be much improved. I think our market as a whole will not recover completly till 2011 maybe 2012 but 2009 so far has been a busy one. Buyers are coming off the fence and if your home in Minnesota is priced right it will move. Interest rates will hopefully remain low. If all things happen that President Obama would like to see happen, rates could be down to 4.5% fixed.

Now is a great time to take advantage of these great deals. Buying a home in Minnesota has never been easier or more affordable. Rememeber all client who are registered as VIP’s will get “Cash Rewards” at closing. For more information and to register as a VIP Click Here.
