So I’m at the bank today to make a business deposit and while waiting for the teller to re-count my bad math I notice the FDIC sign stuck to the wall in front of her.
We’ve all seen this sign before probably hundreds of times over. Its the black sign in front of you when standing at the teller. I’ve never actually read the sign until today, have you?
I read the statement next to the big FDIC letters and it read something to the effect of “taking care of your funds on the good faith of our government.” Ha ha ha I started to laugh out loud and the teller and the two on either side looked at me. I re-read out loud what the sign said and asked them, “Who has faith in our government?” What a joke, hello! Oil spill 59 days +, bank problems, bailouts for Wall Street, Pelosi (sorry couldn’t resist), etc.. Faith in our government? Holly crap is that funny. The girls got a kick out of it as well and said no one has ever pointed that out to them before.
I trust the government about as much as I would trust a drunk, blind taxi driver to get me home from the bar. The sad part is until we elect the average “Joe the plumber” and not career politicians, doctors, or lawyers it will never change, we are all a pawn in their messed up game.
